edars are a very resilient type of tree. They don’t take much to grow big and tall. Good soil and a good amount of sunshine and voilà! The only problem with a cedar hedge is it does need some yearly maintenance to grow the way you want it to grow. The more it is trimmed the fuller it gets bringing not only beauty but also optimal privacy to your property.  Neglected hedges will cause holes and gaps as the branches become too large to trim. This is not only an eye sore but allows you to see right through therefore eliminating the privacy factor. Overgrown cedars can also be very difficult to work with and easily susceptible to winter damage as branches break due to heavy snow buildup.
